The Day of Giving Back to Our Island Community

Do you know the initiative #GivingTuesday has been trending over the past few years?

Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a day dedicated to giving back worldwide, in Canada, and in your community.

Islanders are known to be friendly and caring people. We believe in supporting our communities and we’d give the shirt off our backs to help someone in need.

This year’s Giving Tuesday, November 29th, consider supporting local organizations that keep your monetary donations right here in our Island community. Here are four examples of  ways you can give back this Giving Tuesday:

  1. Volunteer at a local charity or not-for-profit organization.

  2. Drop off items to a toy or food drive.

  3. Pay it Forward by paying for the person behind you at the drive threw or leaving a gift card at the gas pump.

  4. Use your voice to help others by re-share content posted by not-for-profit organizations online.

From donating to volunteering, to any acts of kindness, by giving back to where we dwell and excel, we can all spread some cheers, express our gratitude, and warm up the hearts of our community.

#PEIGives

How do you plan to donate locally for this year’s Giving Tuesday? PEI Gives are using #PEIGives this year to increase the profile of Giving Tuesday on the Island and encourage PEI charities and individuals to donate to the most important causes. So use #PEIGives to spread the word about Giving Tuesday and share what good things you will give back during the holiday season and beyond!
