Jonathon Good grew up on a fruit and vegetable farm in Eastern Prince Edward Island. Growing up in a family business inspired him to enroll in the business program at the University of PEI.
After working at the Atlantic Superstore locations in Charlottetown for over 23 years, Jonathon was presented with the opportunity to franchise his own grocery store in Cornwall.
In January of 2020, he opened Good’s Independent. With COVID-19 hitting just a few months later, Jonathon had to navigate many challenges in the first two years of owning his business.
Good’s Independent has a large selection of local products. Being a business owner has allowed Jonathon to build relationships with local farmers and businesses within the community he is delighted to be able to support them.
Throughout the pandemic, community members have shown Jonathon and Good’s Independent support by choosing to do their grocery shopping locally at his store and providing positive feedback.
Jonathon loves to be able to get to know his customers. By talking to those who shop at his store, Jonathon has been able to better fulfill their needs by ordering, new specific products that they are shopping for.
Jonathon is grateful for his fantastic team; they have been a solid support for him during the unprecedented times he faced during his first two years of being a business owner.
