Wayne and Edward are a “couple of entrepreneurs from wayyy up west,” as they like to say; they are from Nailpond and Waterford communities outside Tignish.
After graduating high school in 1991, Wayne and Edward started working at the Co-op in Tignish, then in the hardware and building supply industry. During this time, they learned how to operate a business, product knowledge, sell products, and work alongside co-workers in a team setting to help customers and grow a business.
After gaining 20 years of experience, Wayne and Edward decided to start their own business, Markan West Inc., in 2013.
The Markan name originated from the Markan group of stores in Charlottetown. It is 100% locally owned and operated business for over 30 years and is PEI’s largest flooring store.
Location was important for Wayne and Edward; that’s why they chose to operate in Bloomfield, as it sits in the center of West Prince, allowing them to serve all of its great communities.
Markan West Inc specializes in selling a wide variety of flooring, countertops, paint, window blinds, trim and doors, kitchen cabinets, stair material and bath and lighting.
Having great loyal, dependable, knowledgeable, and friendly staff makes it easier for Wayne and Edward to grow their business and ensures that their customers receive the best service possible.
