Love Local, PEI: Rossignol Winery Estate

Devon Bernard, our Love Local PEI Ambassador met with owner John Rossignol to learn more about the winemaking process and production. Did you know: Rossignol Winery is one of four wineries on the Island?

Devon: Can you tell me who you are and what your business is?

John: Hi, I’m John Rossignol owner and winemaker of Rossignol Winery right here in Little Sands.

Devon: Why do you think it’s important to support local businesses?

John: I think it’s important to support local, and we do and it works.We buy 100% of our fruit from growers right here on PEI and we hope to sell 100% of our wine right here in PEI.

Devon: What is something you would like people to know about your business?

John: My wife and I sailed here from Ontario, 30 years ago and my dream was to build a house on the ocean – Prince Edward Island, a pretty nice place but I ended up having to have something to do and I love wine so we started planting grape vines and here we are 30 years later still making wine.
