1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, browsing profiles, or otherwise using LoveLocalPEI, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions in their entirety. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LoveLocalPEI.

This agreement also incorporates our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must not use the platform.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

To use LoveLocalPEI, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
  2. Truthful information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update your profile as needed. Misrepresentation of your identity, age, location, or farming background is grounds for immediate account termination.
  3. One account per person: Each individual may maintain only one active account. Duplicate accounts will be removed without notice.
  4. Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. User Conduct and Community Rules

LoveLocalPEI is built on respect, honesty, and genuine connection. All members are expected to uphold these values. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any kind toward other members
  • Creating fake or misleading profiles, including using photos of other people without their consent
  • Solicitation of money, commercial products, or services through the platform
  • Posting obscene, discriminatory, or hateful content targeting any individual or group based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin
  • Attempting to collect personal information from other users for unauthorized purposes
  • Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the platform or extract data

LoveLocalPEI serves a diverse community that includes members from various backgrounds, faiths, and farming traditions. We expect all users to treat fellow members with the same respect they would offer a neighbor. 4. User Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you upload to LoveLocalPEI, including photos, profile text, and messages. By posting content on the platform, you grant LoveLocalPEI a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and reproduce your content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the service.

You agree not to upload content that:

  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains illegal material or promotes illegal activity
  • Includes personally identifiable information of others without their consent

LoveLocalPEI reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we reasonably deem inappropriate. Users can report objectionable content through our in-platform reporting tools, and our team reviews all reports within 48 hours.

5. Platform Rights and Services

LoveLocalPEI reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We continually improve the platform to better serve our farming community, and changes may include updates to features, search functionality, or pricing.

We do not guarantee that use of the platform will result in matches, dates, or relationships. LoveLocalPEI is a tool for connection - the outcome depends on the effort and authenticity each member brings. The platform may experience occasional downtime for maintenance or technical upgrades, during which services may be temporarily unavailable.

6. Limitation of Liability

LoveLocalPEI provides its services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to LoveLocalPEI in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

LoveLocalPEI is not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline. While we verify profiles through a manual review process, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of information provided by members. Always exercise caution when meeting someone in person - our safety guidelines offer practical advice for safe first dates.

7. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. In the event of a dispute:

  1. Informal resolution: We encourage you to contact us first at [email protected]. Most concerns can be resolved through direct communication within 30 days.
  2. Binding arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
  3. Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against LoveLocalPEI.
  4. Jurisdiction: Any legal proceedings not subject to arbitration shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. Upon closure, your profile will be removed from public view within 48 hours.

LoveLocalPEI may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice if you violate these terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we determine that your activity poses a risk to the safety of our community. In the event of termination, we will handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including deletion of your data upon request.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The updated terms will also be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Your continued use of LoveLocalPEI after the updated terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with any modification, you should discontinue use and close your account before the new terms become effective.
